Christian Dior was very known for his haute couture way of working. He was born in year of 1905 in the seaside town of Granville, on the coast of Normandy. Rather than settling for the career dreams his parents had of him, he instead pursued his passion of designing and fashion. On December 16, 1946 he founded the house of Christian Dior located at 30 Avenue Montaigne Paris. Christian Dior’s first debut collection was shown on February 12, 1947; which included 90 different iconic looks still remembered till this day. His unique and quality like pieces has set the tone for the fashion industry ever since.

Arnault became chairman, CEO and managing director of Christian Dior. Yves Saint-Laurent was once appointed as Dior’s creative director in which he was soon replaced by Marc Bohan. Gianfranco Ferre was made stylistic director of Christian Dior in 1989, soon replacing Marc Bohan. Lastly John Galliano became the creative director of Christian Dior starting in the year of 1997 until 2011. Up to this date fashion icons such as Galliano’s former-design director Bill Gayten has headed up the house of Christian Dior until April 9 2012, and many more rumored speculations of other well known fashion designers as well.
